Mini Letters vs Perforated Letters vs Stainless Steel Letters — How to Choose

Mini letters, perforated letters, flat letters, edgeless letters, resin letters, super letters — the vocabulary alone is enough to confuse anyone. But the choice becomes simple if you start from one question: how far away will people be standing?

Mini illuminated letters — for close-in refinement

Small letter shells with fine, even illumination and a crisp edge. Best for indoor feature walls, mall counters, reception desks and bar fronts, where viewers are two to five metres away and quality is judged up close.

Perforated (punched) letters — for long distance

LED modules are fitted through holes punched in a metal face, producing dense points of light. Visibility is highest at long range, which is why rooftop letters and very large facades use them. Up close you will see the individual light points — that is normal, not a defect.

Stainless steel illuminated letters — for outdoor durability

A stainless steel return with an illuminated acrylic face: solid, heavy and weather-resistant. This is the default choice for storefronts, corporate entrance signs and anything that must survive ten years of sun and rain.

Also worth knowing

• Edgeless / seamless "super letters" — no visible joint between face and return; premium look, higher price.
• Resin letters — poured resin face, rounded and glossy; popular for indoor brand walls.
• Non-illuminated crystal letters — acrylic, polished; used where backlighting is unnecessary.

Two extra questions decide the rest: is it indoors or outdoors (weatherproofing), and is it flat or curved (three-dimensional forming). Answer those and the specification writes itself.
