Door plates, floor directories, wayfinding systems, notice boards, garden stakes, traffic signs — they look simple, yet signage is one of the most complaint-prone procurement categories. The causes are predictable: vague drawings, downgraded materials and arguments at installation. Work through this checklist in order.
Before you request a quote
- Confirm the full scope and quantity per type — door plates, directories, totems and stickers are priced differently.
- Prepare a location list with photos and dimensions for each installation point.
- Decide the material grade: stainless steel, aluminium, acrylic or PVC; indoor or outdoor.
- Agree the graphic identity: logo files, fonts, colour references (Pantone or CMYK).
- Specify accessibility and code requirements where relevant.
- Set the delivery date against your opening or handover schedule.
In the quotation
- Require an itemised quote: material, thickness, finish, mounting method, freight and installation.
- Ask for a written warranty: surface finish, structure and any electrical parts.
- Confirm who supplies fixings, what tools are needed and whether the site is ready.
Before and after production
- Approve a physical sample or a colour proof for the finish — screens lie about colour.
- Agree the packing method and shipping damage liability.
- Inspect a batch on arrival: colour consistency between pieces, edge finish, hole positions and mounting hardware, then record it in writing.
Most disputes come from steps 1–4 being skipped. Get them right and the rest is routine. We can also produce a drawing set and a sample for approval before the run starts — ask us at +86-138-2351-7518.
